First things first...Alex had his very first Bahnhauf bretzel (pretzel)...and I was so proud to share that moment with him!
And what doesn't go better with a 'bretzel', than a beer?! Especially Alex's very first legal beer at Cafe Bar Motta on the river.
There are literally city blocks full of high-end watch stores, and Alex mostly enjoyed looking at the Rolex watches.
We walked the city center, and then east of the Limmat River to the 'not so tourist area'...and visited Old Town.
We also saw home "Das Hais Zum Loch", the home of Knight Wisso which was built between 1230-1350....and is one of the oldest homes in the city (yellow building in the background".
We checked out a few churches including Wasserkirche (Chirch on the water), but most notably, Grossmünster a Romanesque-style protestant church built in 1220! We were especially impressed by the various massive, thick fortress-like doors.
Alex climbed the bell tower too, but I chose my closterphobia over adventure😱.

Alas, we are so very tired an haven't had proper sleep in over 23 hours, so we are back at the Hilton resting up for our adventures to Lucern, Switzerland tomorrow. Lights out by 8pm!
ðŸ’Alex's thoughts of the day: "Architecture was pretty cool, fun to see a different way of life.
ðŸ’Shannon's thoughts of the day: "So happy to be here and experience this with him. Old Town Zurich is beautiful with brick streets and houses nestled up against each other.
