We stopped by a chocolate shop that had a chocolate fountain wall!
<picture coming>
Next we went to the Lucerne Jesuit Church, a Catholic church in Lucerne, Switzerland. It is the first large Baroque church built in Switzerland north of the Alps.
Then we saw a lion carved in stone. Mark Twain said it was the saddest lion... I checked out after that, so you'll need to ask Alex the history .... it was really sad looking.
Then we went to Mount Pilatus, elevation: 6981 feet. This is supposedly where Pontius Pilot went after he killed Jesus to seek redemption, but he didn't find forgiveness so he jumped off the cliff!
We went by boat then road the steepest cogwheel in the world up, then hiked to highest peek, and then road a gondola down.
We then hiked to the old city wall featuring 9 towers, called Museggmauer.
After probably 8 miles of hiking, we went to Old Swiss House for dinner, a Michelin star winner, where Alex had the famous Schnitzel that they make right at your table.. I had morel mushroom ravioli. The food was incredible!
๐จAlex's thought of the day: He is surprised that water costs the same as beer and Toblerone is only $2, and they have $13,000 watches on top of a mountain! Everything was cool to see.
๐ญ my thoughts... it was cool to see Alex's face when we went into the church, he was in utter shock at all of the paintings on the ceiling. The steepest cog wheel wasn't that scary after all.
